Great Western Malting Trainee Program
Each year we take on one or two graduate production trainees. The program runs for 24 months and provides a wide range of experiences within the
production environment across our malting sites alongside a structured training program. Trainees will be given responsibility from day one
and get an insight into many aspects of the business including experiences in different locations. You will spend around 6 months at each location
while you learn the art of making high quality malt.
The program is for recent graduates who are looking for a career in the malting industry with our preference being for graduates with a degree
in agriculture, engineering, or a science subject.
Reporting to the General Manager of Brewcraft USA, this position manages the day to day operations of our production and distribution warehouse facility
to ensure metrics are maintained or exceeded to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. Candidates must possess the desire and ability to
demonstrate continuous leadership of our values and support the continued growth of our business and our people. Preference will be given to qualified
candidates with a passion for the craft brewing industry.
Manage all warehouse activities ensuring operational goals are achieved by determined deadlines.
Effectively manage warehouse employees, focusing on retention and skill development.
Promote a “Zero Harm” work environment through adherence to OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT and HACCP regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
Manage site inventory control processes; ensuring compliance with internal SOPs and best practices.
Process orders accurately and in a timely manner according to SOPs and customer requirements.
Oversee daily production schedule in accordance with customer order demand and safety stock levels.
Develop and/or maintain written documentation of all SOPs.
Facilitate and/or conduct all required employee training; including forklift and safety certification programs.
Assist in the development of budgets and ongoing review of trends & variances.
Completion of special projects as assigned by management.
Facilitate and/or conduct site tours for management, employees and customers.
Creating a professional environment for customers and carriers while ensuring the warehouse team is constantly striving for excellence in all things
related to the business.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of direct warehouse management experience, including demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and mentor employees.
Knowledge of and experience ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT HAZMAT and HACCP regulations.
Experience utilizing cycle count methodologies and performing full physical inventory counts.
Demonstrated ability to manage production and distribution warehouse facilities.
Material handling experience.
Warehouse Management System and/or Inventory Control software experience is preferred.
Microsoft Dynamics GP experience is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in a LEAN/Six Sigma environment is preferred.
Proven ability to operate within budget guidelines.
Capacity to embrace and lead change in a constantly fluctuating business environment is essential.
Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment, plus ability to exercise solid judgement and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized
Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate both verbally & written
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Must be forklift certified and able to operate forklift and other equipment as needed.
Ability to comfortably lift and carry up to 55/lbs.
Passion for the craft brewing & malting industry is a plus.
4 year relevant college degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification in LEAN/Six Sigma is preferred.
