Our Locations

An aerial view of the Great Western Malting plant in Pocatello, Idaho

Pocatello, Idaho

Located in one of the premier regions of the US for growing high-quality malt barley and wheat, our Pocatello plant is strategically positioned with rail access right next to the facility. The majority of the barley and wheat processed here is sourced within 100 miles, ensuring both freshness and traceability. The site features an original Saladin-style malthouse built in 1981, complemented by a state-of-the-art Buhler-designed expansion completed in 2017.

In 2022, Pocatello became even more advanced with the commissioning of the Optisteep® water purification system. This cutting-edge technology reduces water consumption during the malting process by up to 30%—all while maintaining the highest quality and consistency of our malt specifications.
